Splash shield mounting help???

Does anyone know what part # 7 in this diagram is? My car does not have this part mounted.
I am attempting to install an aftermarket splash shield on my LHD 2007 Z4 3.0i roadster.
It is pretty close to mounting up on the front bumper but in the rear there is nothing to screw it to.
Is that part maybe for automatic shift cars? If not what does the shield mount to in the rear?

Does the greyed out text simply mean it was not fitted to your vehicle in the first place?

I believe BMW uses similar diagrams for multiple vehicles and just 'greys out' parts that are not fitted - for example the parts catalogue for my Z4M shows a page of halogen light fitting (all greyed out) and mine only has OE xenons.

I don't know really. I just thought those were parts that are now discontinued.
 
Part no.7 is just a bracket that clips in under the radiator. Assuming other fasteners are on the radiator, this part is almost cosmetic (in my opinion). I'm sure at an engineering POV it does something...

I know this as I saw it dropped on the bottom of my splash shield and wondered what it was before removing the said shield and investigating.

Does not relate to mounting the splash shield.
