Spilled a large soda in my car...

I went to taco bell last night to get something to eat when it decides to flash flood out of no where as I am pulling out I curb check the curb and my large soda spills all over the bottom of my passenger seat... Now when I get in my car tonight I get the ( ! ) blinking yellow light... My nav system will not turn on/radio bmw assist anything...and to top if off the orange light for the passenger airbag is now on... What the hell is going on? The nearest BMW shop is an hour and 1/2 away from my town... how boned am I?

Car is a 2008 3.0si, don't know if they are RFs or not.
Car is under warranty still..
 
I suspect you know already ................ :(

If it where an iPhone I would say put in a bowl of dry rice ........but hardly a solution in this case .
Soda has gone everywhere esp into seat belt electronics under seat I assume

Worth a check to ensure it will not compromise the bits that tension the belt and trigger the bags before you get it looked at .

It's probably the occupancy sensor inside the seat's bottom. Guessing it will need to be replaced. Does the car start? Can you drive it to the nearest BMW shop?
 
Yeah it starts, I drove it around today. The cluster panel does not light up anymore... as in, when I turn my blinker on it doesn't show the green arrows or make noise...(just shows ( ! ) yellow and now the red airbag guy stays on.) Thank god the blinkers still fire. My ac doesn't work anymore, like it reverted back to transport mode... my nav/cd player/bmw assist wont work, my locks are not auto locking when I take off either... this is absolutely not what I needed b4 school starts :(. But ty for your reply's and the welcome :).
 
clean all contacts under seat plugs etc. sure it will cure take time also clean out dust wilst there. hope it works Did for me :)

TYSM That fixed it, nav is on, blinkers and cluster works, only thing is I haven't put the seat back in yet, having a coupe its a PITA. Anyways, woot! <3
 
Taco Bell?!!! Large soda... claims another victim.
Another justification for rule No. 1 - No food in car!
 
I find it amazing that all these issues could develop due to a spilt soda. I'm not saying I don't beleive you, I'm just amazed. :cry:
