The best way to protect the roof motor is to have it relocated to the boot (Dave in Durham is charging £80 - he did mine, I think there's also chap down south who also provides this service)

Thanks Marlon. Luckily (?) motor went recently so had it replaced and relocated to boot by bowser :?

Note that the water is not supposed to bead on the roof but is meant to soak in.
