You got me worried now as I use that bit of road every day!! I always thought it was 60 straight after the tolls and 50 going down to 40 over the bridge... :(

The drag strip after tolls is the only bit of fun after queuing in the bloody traffic! Don't even get me started on the people who dawdle in the outside lane after the tolls!!

Yep, standard procedure, outside toll booths and a boot full in the outside lane clear of trucks and dawdlers! Not any more....

I love Essex Police. About 20 years ago I kept getting speeding fines so visited my local nick to find out what it was all about. Some knobhead had cloned my plates on a Saab Convertible and was speeding everywhere. Caused me no end of hassle. Luckily when they looked into it (eventually) the speeding car was a 900 with a blue roof and mine was a 93 with a black roof.

I'm not sure of the exact timescales but I thought you could take another course after 2 years.

I maybe wrong though.

Thanks for the votes of confidence, socks and offers to look after the breadvan while I'm inside.

I'm contacting my brief as we speak :)

By the way, I wouldn't worry too much if you don't have a letter now. This happened Saturday and the letter arrived today.

Ah, in that case - hang you for your sins

(he who has no sins throw the first stone ….)

Man I love the drag strip after the tolls :( never knew there were cameras there. Thanks for the heads up!

No doubt HM Government will have statistics to prove that is an accident blackspot. i.e. 1 little collision in a zillion years or something similar.

I'm sure there are the occasional accidents there, but reading into it the cameras are positioned to help counter traffic flow and not a cynical money making scheme.

:tumbleweed:

I suppose the moral of this story is about the 'COAST' theory supported by the fact that many who regularly use that section of road have not realised that there is a 50mph speed restriction in place.

I don't really know that stretch very well. I barely ever use the Dartford crossing (once in the last 3 years probably). Is it controlled by variable speed limits like the new managed motorways?

The camera's through that section are new, as are the lowered speed limits

tough luck inkey :(

Cameras? You mean there are fixed ones there? My GPS detector did not mention anything there.
