Speeding

Back in November I got flashed by a Gatso. 7-10 days later the dreaded form came through.

I left it for a while, before calling to ask for the picture for verification.
The lady on the other end of the phone was very obliging - but nothing came through the post.

It’s now the latter part of April and I haven’t heard anything from them. Does this mean case closed or should I be chasing hem?
I don’t want to be "too honest" if I can get away with it. At the same time I don’t want to get a court summons for avoiding a fine.

A good tactic that can often work - its more trouble than its worth for them to dig the photo out a lot of the time,especially if you weren't far over the limit - ACPO guidance is only to prosecute if speed is greater than "speed limit + 10% + 2mph".

I'd say you are home and dry you lucky boy!

Keep quiet and hope for the best!

Friend on his bike, on a motorway, clocked in as part of a group at around 130mph+... police realised they wouldn't catch them, set up a "road block" at the next junction. Everyone in the group signed that they were doing 120mph. Nothing happened. That was probably 3 years ago now, if not more. Sometimes these things drop through the cracks if it's not a simple form filling exercise.

but then :D Im sure they will send you a reminder before the dogs come in .....
just wait and see..........
 
They have 6 months from the date of the offence to get the paperwork to court, then add a few weeks for the court paperwork to reach you.

After that, timed out.
