Speeding ticket....

So three weeks ago, after only a few hundred miles in my z4m, I got pulled over for speeding...... Now i should point out I've never been pulled over before so clearly it was the cars fault not mine! They got me with a radar gun and pulled me over there and then... He filled out all my details on a hand held electronic thing and said I'd be hearing my punishment in due course.... Weird thing is I haven't heard anything since.... Looking online there appears to be a 2 week deadline but not sure if that applies when pulled over (as opposed to just being flashed by a camera)........ Anyone have any idea how it works?? Am I off the hook?! He did semi compliment the car, comparing it to the X5 he was driving so he prob thought it didn't deserve a ticket on reflection :D

It's that time of year again. We seem to have spates of people getting pulled.

I believe that your question could be answered in a topic slightly further down, here http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=78725

If I'm not mistaken as you've been pulled over they have 6 months to contact you.

Its the warm sunny weather that brings them out. I always remind myself on a warm summer evening on tye commute home, you can guarantee a car parked up and a speed gun.

I wish they'd spend as much time looking to prosecute middle-lane hoggers on the motorway.

Involves too little stationary doughnut eating.

Thanks .... Interesting thread... Fortunately I was (allegedly!) 'only' doing 93 (and a momentary lapse to quote the officer himself!) so shouldn't be too much of an issue.... Touch wood! Shame about the 6 months window to tell me what's what tho :(

Sadly saying something like, I had my foot down to go up the hill and forgot to take it off when going down the other side does not usually cut the mustard these days.

We all get tugged as we go through our motoring lives and having been twice at around the 100 mph mark I can not take the moral high ground. But suffice to say, you eejit! :poke:

Its one thing I really hate, radar gun cops.
Fair enough static speed cameras or the cops catching you if they are driving around but standing waiting for some poor bugger is out of order.
I wonder how many cops were standing waiting on a "crime" to happen while the male and female were lying dying in their crashed car on the M9 for 3 days after it being reported to them?

The two weeks deadline is to give you notice of impending prosecution (NIP). But of course he did that verbally by the road side. They now have 6 months to take further action. Good luck OP.
