Speeding Ticket

I just wish the authorities would put as much energy in to designing out danger at known accident blackspots as they do in sticking up SPECS cameras or parking mobile camera vans there.

Driving is the only form of transport which we seem to be keen to make journey times slower and more difficult. Shouldn't we be trying to make them faster AND safer simultaneously? The two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.

Very true. In reply to the OP, yes it is very easy to go very quick. Mine no longer feels that quick so I have to be doubly careful, you just get used to the speed. If it makes you feel better I got my first speed awareness course within 5 months of getting the car.

Perhaps these cars go faster 'up North' due to the pure air, or may be more camera's work!

I got caught speeding for the first time this year too... So i would say its not only the car but luck too. I got offered a speed awareness course... Which i quite enjoyed!

But 50 in a 40 first time offence i'm surprised you werent offered a speed aweness course.... Its less then the fine now too (as the fine has gone up to £100)

heres food for thought .........
its a laid back thought process I picked up in Holland ......

How many times do you "speed" in a year ......?
How many tickets do you actually get ....?

actually pretty cheap when you think of it that way ......

for me .........
question 1 - pretty much evry time I get in the Zed
question 2 - 1 in 25 years

:D

Speed does not kill. It is the inappropriate use of it that does. There is a significant difference between the two.

+1

speed is nothing more than a name given to the rate at which an object covers distance.

Is this all a bit like saying 'guns don't kill.....'. :fuelfire:

of course they don't.... rappers do... ;)

If speeding kills why aren't the ambulances queued up outside racetracks around the country at weekends with all the motorsport that takes place?

It's a lack of driving skill that kills

A car out of control at 20mph can kill :driving:
