People power!! I support the effort!!

You know, I took the time to read the whole article, and I looked at and read every single vandalised scamera. I have to say, it is absolutely ridiculous what the government is doing over there. I don't blame the citizens one bit for striking back. Never have I seen so many cameras placed in such absurd locations. It's pathetic and the gov. should be ashamed of themselves, not to mention the decreased speeds - that's just pure insanity :dizzy:

I did laugh my @ss off at some of those photos of vandalism though...very creative  !! All in all I have to say I agree with their position as well. I especially loved the one of the high-powered car advert in the background... ! Good find enfield, I especially enjoyed it

^^^ it is nice to have your support officer.... Sometimes good ideas can get carried away just a wee bit too far.

It's interesting as I guess at least a dozen of those cameras are within 10 miles of my home and I reckon they were last vandalised several years ago, so I assume this is an old library of shots.

While we continue to proliferate cameras at an incredible rate, the focus has been changed to 'safety cameras' rather than calling them 'speed cameras'. They are supposed to be in obvious places, painted bright yellow and only where danger can be proved. To many motorists they are however still just money machines. The good news though is that it's perfectly legal to run databases of them to know exactly where that all are, even down to locations of mobile units. My Bimmers both run modified map databases so there is no need to be caught by any of them... :) :)

See attached shot from the X5:

I think everyone should adopt that one country where the younger model ladies hold up a speed limit sign naked.

Don't even get me started on 'mobile safety cameras'... usually they hide the van behind a hedge on a perfectly straight piece of road with a slight downhill slope... grr grrr grrr :headbang: :fuelfire:

I nearly got caught on the A68 on a Sunday afternoon on the way to Scotland, was doing about 85 in a 60 zone, but luckily a van driver coming the opposite way warned me and I cruised past the guy at 61mph - I know it's not legal to warn people, but I still find that most people will do it anyway.

And my Sony satnav has a camera database for all the fixed ones :D

enfield that was a great link too, like FNI I spent ages on the site looking at all the damaged camera pics.
