Speed Cameras - how profitable??

Are they trying to say they're not making money out of these things?

That's how it reads. We all know where the fixed ones are and drive accordingly.

It's the mobile one that are the real money makers, that's why they are staying.

Stealthy B**t***s that zap you at 7.30am doing 50 on a dry, empty dual carriageway just before it increases from 40 to National Speed Limit.

Bitter? Me? :x

Fair comment...to be fair!

Where have you been in the UK and are you sure its British people you talk of, cos there are so many illegal's in this country that you might have been dealing with foreigners!

People are aggressive though.....a couple of times I've stopped to tell people things like their brake light is not working etc, and you can see that when they see me trying to get their attention, they tense right up and are ready for a fight!

Yep that's London, a diet of jellied eels and warm flat beer - enough to make Cliff Richard stick the heed on a total stranger. :fuelfire:

Road deaths in the UK are the lowest they've been at for years.... makes sense to switch off the pointless cameras

But this is a political matter. They would just point to the fact that there are cameras and the death rate is lower. to them. That means more cameras.
The good folk of England took the bait hook, line, And sinker. I bet the first speed cam was probably at a school zone or some such area. Where some sort of horrible tragedy took place. And that was how it was first sold to the people. And once the government starts doing something. They are loath to stop it.
In my eyes. The six most dangerous words in the world for freedom are. "There ought to be a law".

When several cities in my state began to install redlight and speed cameras, the legislature passed a bill banning them, which our governor signed. They are, no more. :driving:
