My 2006 coupe had nav but don't remember it having a setting to activate speed camera warnings :?
Got it on current 2008 car & find not only does it warn me of the fixed cameras it also warns in random areas i know don't have fixed cameras but do have the mobile van whenever the plod feel like setting up there .
Anyone got similar set up & is this right ?

Mine doesn't do it, and I have 2014 maps... Perhaps you have a 'special' version of the nav DVD ?

Strange one :?
The lady is very polite  but breaks into the radio or music & says "warning / speed camera ahead " within a few hundred yards of either the fixed camera or a known area where the camera van operates .

I didn't say I had an OEM disc though :D

You do as I only buy OEM ones :poke:

The one that came with the car is sitting in a plastic sleeve with the documentation. I keep thinking about selling it on here for a few quid :D

Only if I get half of what you earned from the original gear knob & grilles :poke:

My 2007 z does the same I've found It warns me of any in a certain radius, for example if I was going down a dual carriage way and there was a fixed camera on a road off the carriage way it warns me... And then when you check the map it's always maybe a 1/2 - 1 mile away from where the car is travelling

Slightly annoying on a motorway trip :headbang:

You can switch it off. On the main menu screen (with options such as Computer, Telephone, Navigation, DSP etc), select Settings towards the bottom of the left screen. In the sub menu (with Screen, Clock, Date, Navi Volume etc) is the option of Cameras, simply select Off and the warnings will stop.
I forget which, but one of either Cameras Off or Night Mode turns mine French though as it replaces the Language option :D

I have cameras on mine. Usual way they are done is to hack the disk (OEM) of course) and add a cameras location list as a POI.

You switch it on in the same was as any other POI or set it by a distance from you 1 mile, 5 miles, national, etc. . You'll recall that same process if you seek petrol stations they continue to show until you remove them.

EDIT - and that was my 15,000th post

Yes, this is correct - mine is the same. Doesn't do any harm and you can reduce the volume of the warning if you want - mine is fairly low now.

you can download them legally, ppl use same file to import to other sat nav systems as a point of interest.
