Speculative 108 pricing for possible sale

We've just bought a 2.5si for the wife to join my coupe on the driveway - she loved mine so much she had to get a Z too.

Car came with 108s which she is keen to change (to match my M3 reps believe it or not!)

Alloy rims are all perfect with no corrosion or marks, but at least one of the wheels has some bubbling of lacquer on the 'flat' area inside the wheel, where the weights would go (not a great description but hope you know what I mean!)

Wondering what the going rate is for 4 alloys being sold, so we can work out funding and timings for purchase

Thanks

Matt

Sounds like the inside of the wheels will need stripping and relacquering probably (if you're doing one you need to do all four).....and from a long time observing I'd say £250 is the going rate for four if they are not kerbed at all, unless the tyres are something special.....?

Thanks for that, tyres are bog STD Runflats with c.4mm tread, so unless her owning them make them special, I fear not!

The others look OK but hear your point on it being a matter of time.

Assume I'm best selling as is rather than me refurbing them myself, as at least the new owner knows exactly how they are rather than my trying to 'fix' them?

Thanks

Well I have exactly the same query, since I have a set with good stars but poor lacquer on the rim. I strongly suspect that a few quid spent on polishing and lacquering the rims themselves might get you another £100, so its a question of whether your time is worth it?

Based in Berkshire.

Given I don't even own a jack, I could end up spending that extra cash on buying the tools to do the job, plus I'm lacking in the skill factor I guess.

Would need to buy her replacement wheels before I can sell these though, otherwise she will be highly unimpressed.

I'll take some photos and work out how to link them up.

Can't promise yet they will deff be for sale in the short term as still trying to talk her around to the fact that selling these help to fund the new ones!

Found some marking on two stars, not curbing, but not perfect. 1 worse than the other

Here's hoping the photos work...

You'll get near 100 for each of them on eBay if they're in good condition like you say they are :D

somebody on here was recently selling fully refurbed sets for 450 so I'd say that was a tad steep

Our first car with 108s on, so only have the view of others I have seen, but compared to previous diamond polished rims that I've had, I'd say these look high gloss paint rather than polished IYKWIM.

No idea if this is good, but will probably last longer!

Based on the tread left on the tyres & the fact there was only interest on the alloys, we've decided to keep the wheels until the tyres are worn out & then upgrade them, dropping vreds on at the same time.
