Special tool for lock actuator!?

I need to replace my passenger side lock actuator, but the repair requires a special cable tensioning tool to reinstall the door latch cable (called the bowden cable) afterwards. Has anyone here figured out an alternative way of doing this without the BMW special cable tensioning tool?

best way are the 2 special tools, my driver door bowden cable needs replacing and after consulting a mate who works in a bmw workshop the only way he could see was with the bmw tool, ill be ordering them shortly and will probably sell them on after im done.
