Oh man these arrived after a damn long wait ......
Bloody rough year and this is my Xmas present to myself 😁. This will dip the car under the 1400kg mark combined with 527hp we are at some serious power to weight. The quality of the seat is unreal. Can't wait to get them in the car.

from the test sit they seem quite comfortable, these will be going to trimmers to have OEM BMW black Nappa leather pads added with m division tri stich or red stitch to lift the overly black Interior.

Very very nice they look great . Well deserved  Couldn`t you wait to open on Christmas day :D

Nice! Are they B5? I ended up going for B6 as I found they had more thigh support, but I guess the B5 is the better option for the road.
My only issue with them is I can't quite get them high enough. Be aware you will have to use Tillett mounting hardware/runners etc.IMG-20190627-WA0010.jpg

Tom, have you got any extra mounting/comfort hardware (floor mounts, sliders, etc.), or are the side mounts directly bolted to the floor?

I know when I was speaking to Macht Schnell and PSDesigns, their only solution for raising the seat any further was to double up with the floor mounts and use longer bolts for another 10-15mm height. However, once I put my PP ABEs in I realised they couldn't go any higher without my helmet hitting the roof :P

im 6ft tall so i like to be on the floor..... i deliberately went for the b5 as i just felt it was a nice compromise, sitting in them i can see what you mean about the leg area. R.E mounting, im going with VAC floor mounts with the additional side pieces for seat belt mounting etc. Tillet sliders, and tillet side mounts.... ill be running them at the highest the mounts go as ive been told a few times your sitting on the floor  i also believe running the sliders adds a fair amount of height.

this little lot adds up real quick so ive been buying things in batches to not feel the HIT so much .

also i see the tillet offer a taller mount solution for the b5... the TB3 mount seen here https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/tillett-tb3-tall-alloy-side-mount-brackets-for-b5-seats-tiltb3/

seems ideal, as i can go lower if i wish but ive got that extra height if i need it. The tillet suede pads btw are insane money...... i love what you did with yours.

how did you mount your seat belt buckle and reciprocal, would love to see some pics on however ones done it, my route is meaning lts of expense when i could more than likely drill the side mount an mount direct.

Oh now that’s definitely NSFW material
Looking forward to seeing those upholstered and fitted!

Since the bulkhead went for the cage I no longer have 3 point belts. You could drill the side mount but if you are being very serious about safety it's not best practice.

The seats with their side mounts are too narrow to bolt directly to the floor of course without redrilling. The narrowness of them does make mounting tricky, it takes some figuring out. I ended up going for OMP base mounts and on the drivers side no runners. I could add them and that might solve the height issue a little but I am not a big fan of them in terms of safety. They are considerably different to a normal bucket such as a PP both in terms of width and height off the floor.

Likewise, I'm a bit over. You'll be needing to space them most likely, Tillett will sell you those of course, nothing is cheap getting them to work :(

Lovely choice as already said Byron!

I've got mine on the bottom setting at the rear, but then I think mine have some hybrid mountings with a bit of recaro from when Richard (FL02OUT) used to own the car. I'm sorry I've been pants at getting you proper pics, will sort out this weekend!

@Tom let me know if you ever wanted to swap your passenger seat for mine  , I'd love a b6 for my drivers seat but can't justify buying a new one when the B5s are pretty good and I could get a couple of trackdays in for the price of a new b6!

I'm not sure my OCD could cope with that :!: but I will bear it in mind, would kind of make sense.

ok as your taller than me and finding these to low that's all the warning i need.... ill go with the 3cm taller mount, these are luckily for the b5. it will save me having the space them up. Tillet also specifically warned me AGAINST the use of their sliders for a heavily used track car. my track use isnt crazy so im willing to go with them . wondering if these will work for the seats you have?

R.E the SB mounting, i think i agree on safety, so VAC also do proper mounts the bolt to the floor mounts. so... ill order those too.... its been a frightening expensive thing to do as ive had to buy a LOAD of stuff i didn't expect.... lol, i was hoping i could have bolted these to the floor originally but it soon became apparent im going to need to use specific floor adapters like VAC or macth shnell which in total are like 500 quid . ouch !!!

no probs at all buddy! look forward to hearing from you. what im wondering is why richard didn't just use the tillet side mounts , im hoping this height thing doesn't come back to haunt me .

 my ocd also struggles with the idea but it would mean the passenger seat would be marginally lighter due to there being physically less seat

Anyway I was being proper cheeky but yeah if you did want to then do let me know  would certainly force me to pull my effing finger out and get a trackway booked with you - talked about it for long enough

I don't think Richard fitted these seats - he had the old pole positions which I think he sold before selling the car. Either way the second owner (username Tertius) bought and fitted the B5s I believe. Thinking about it Richard must've sold the car to Tertius with the PPs fitted so he kept the mounts and just swapped to the B5s.

I was thinking about starting a thread on my car, just to document the glacial progress I've been making with it since buying - and to collate some of the old pics of it on track under previous ownership which look fab!

Really depends on what you feel comfortable with, 99% of the time I'd expect that to be fine. Having had a near high speed miss not so long ago and knowing a friend who lost it at the top of raidillon in his CSL and the OE seat actually ripped the studs out of the floor of the car and he spent a few weeks in hospital makes me go for the 'belt and braces' approach.

Would be good to meet for sure! I have the ring and zandvoort booked already, will wait a bit for uk days, I'll drop you a line when I book something.
