Special Number Plate

Hi Group,

I have a number plate for sale and thought I would see if there was any interest.

It spells FAST ZED, I have had it on a Kawasaki Z1000 since new but it would obviously apply to any Z related vehicles but only after 57 plates.

I have had an offer from a registration dealing company of £1200 which probably means they will sell it for £2000 plus- I would rather sell myself and not gibe them the money.

I want to get £2000 for it but I am a realist, any offers?

So it's actually FA57 ZED

Doesn't sound that special when you don't modify the numbers, does it?

Another 1st post, got something to sell, spammer

Not actually a bad reg, and at least the OP has listed a price unlike our last reg plate seller. However I don't think he'll be making £800 over the reg dealing company quote. I have an 06 plate so I'm out...

The poster sought permission of the mods before posting, which was a decent thing to do. We allow posts that may be of interest to members, so this fits.

Of course it's up to individuals to decide if the plate is suitable and the price.

That was straight up and honest.

I think 2k is about 1k more than its worth. But I know noting about these things!!

My bad...

I'd agree with the sentiments in here on price... Bare in mind the number plate companies margins the plate advertised at £2k will return you £1200, assuming they sell it at £2k. It's a nice fun plate but probably £750-900 in value is fairer - Z4 or 370Z being the only 2007 on Z cars I can think of. I'd think you paid £399, tops of £599 for it so not a bad way of doubling your cash :)

I think it's a decent plate but if I had 2k to spare I wouldn't be spending it on a reg plate.
Good luck selling it anyways.

Yes sorry should have spelt out the actual letters for those uncertain, it is FA57 ZED.

Appreciate your comments, if I do settle for taking £1200 I would rather that be to an motoring enthusiast not for another company to profit.

Thanks.

johnno001, good luck with the sale. Nice when someone takes the time to do things properly

Not a reg for me as similar to OP if you sell the vehicle your're left with a reg that doesn'r readily transfer.

As for the price - then the market decides.
Reg transfers have SH12 ZED on for £2345 which I cannot imagine how that should read ?? Others for just £548

if you know nothing about these things how can you think 2K is about 1K more than its worth

I imagine there are restrictions on this plate ie you can't put it on anything before September 2007. Is that right?

To be fair, getting "ZED" on any plate is quite rare. I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss the price of this.

57 plate or later is clearly shown on the advert.

ZED plates are not really rare - there are 8 on Reg transfer right now and as per my prev post from as little as £548 to £2k+

Personally I'd grab the money on offer from Reg transfer, but time will tell what someone will pay.

I'd imagine the Reg Transfer offer is for them to advertise on the guys behalf - they buy a lot at auction if the price is right but otherwise they work on advertising the plate and earning commission on the sale.

If they are offering to buy it outright, I'd definitely take their offer!

Sorry, ZED suffixes are as common as any other letter combination, there are still hundreds available to buy direct from DVLA

If Bing's car was a bit younger he could have SCO7 ZED for £1400 direct from DVLA, and there are loads of MYxx ZED available

Lovely one for Woots though, he could have WOO7 ZED for £999
