Speaking of mpg:

total cost of ownership would be less with prius, but i wouldnt have one

generally highly overrated imo

Good to know - sending this to my son who is Prius owner! Thanks for posting!

Haven't seen you since HC07! - How about a Georgia/Florida Z car meet in the middle ?

A couple of recent MPG numbers driving my 2005 Z4 3.0, 6sp, Sport -

November 2007 - 300 miles - 31mpg ! - Gainesville, Florida to Boca Raton, Florida. Gas up at enterance of X-way, top off at end - This trip was just me and a light bag for overnight - all 65 to 75 mph and 6th gear a lot - All expressway/turnpike - 3 stops at service center! Did the exact same trip in my 2006 Z4M Roadster - 24mpg - very respectible!

March 2008 - 2,057 Miles, 72.6 gallons = 28.3 mpg ! - Gainesville, Florida to Little Rock, Arkansas, Leave with full tank, top off blocks from getting back home (gone 7 days). This trip, the Z4 was weighted down - driver (me! BMW basball cap), navigator (wife calling the lady on Garmin names _ _ _ _ _), trunk loaded (250+ lbs), Some city and hill driving.
