it's 6 or 10 only. if you have subs its 10, if you dont have subs its 6.

Very confusing post! there are only two possiblities to the number of speakers (OEM)

Going to sound like a complete nob now, but i do have the 6 speaker system Had a look at the door speakers originally and thought there was sound being generated, but no there isn't But have to say this is the first time ive noticed, as the tweaters and speakers below do a good job! Not with the std stereo obviously

LOL, its very confusing isnt it. Atleast you have the best setup, 6 speaker is easier to upgrade

Mine has the "BMW Professional" speakers according to the dealer i got it from AUC, and it has DSP in the nav menu, but it's not Logic 7, there is no separate amp (unless it's concealed somewhere).

I think the FAQ is wrong!

the amp is in the boot, along with the blueooth ulf, tv tuner if fitted.

Hi. Thanks to everyone who replied to my post. I appreciate your time and now I know. The system sounds okay but I'm used to an amped set up with a sub so I may need to go in search of some little subs to fit in the storage. I have a cleensweep and a 4 x 50w RMS Alpine V12 amp so I guess I could use these. I'll look elsewhere on the site for tips. Thanks again. Marc.

Yup. I double checked and the speakers in the footwell are not empty, so I have 10, and the top system Which was a pleasant surprise

Just get a decent head unit Mine is totally transformed, and you would never believe it was the same system. BMW is so so poor its unbelievable imo.

almost what i did.. cleansweep & alpine pdx4.150 with focal 3-way components, jl 6.5 subs & an intravee.

got the oem head unit because of the nav & bluetooth, & sounds awesome. biggest difference is with the roof down at high speeds, defo better than the dsp systems ive heard.

ironically the pdx4.150 fits straight into the bracket for the dsp amp too..

That cant be right as i added a sub and now i have 11.

Sometime i bring my ipod touch with its headphones.. techically each headphone is a speaker so then i have 13
