Speakers for the TV and Music

Parent's bought a 50" TV recently, so were thinking of getting some decent speakers to acompany it... any ideas?

nothing too expensive... no idea about how much a decent setup is, so throw me some ideas please (definetly under £600 though, if not less... basicaly would like a good balance between cost and sound quality).

I would take a look at the Q Acoustics 2000 series. Excellent build and sound quality on this setup. Just about fits into your budget at around £550-599 for the complete system.

Just helped my mate spec up a budget system in his new house, due to space we went for a Panasonic S20 46" Plasma and for sound he got an Onkyo 607 Amp for £250 and the Canton Movie 80CX speakers for another £250. Sounds great considering the price and has all the furture proofing he needs.

The 607 is hard to come by now as its an old model but if you can get one the spec is awesome and came with a front HDMI which was a main request from my mate.
