Speaker wire colours

The Home page says there's no such thing as a stupid question...Well, I think I have one. I want to be sure before I blow anything up.
Drivers side door speaker wires before they reach the tweeter are yellow with red stripe and yellow with brown stripe. Logically I assumed the yellow with red stripe is the +.


I found this table on Bimmerforums, is this the same as the Z4?

what do you think you will read? it's the loudspeaker output, not a simple 12V line.....!!! and there is no such thing as a +12V test tone CD

but the wiring is indeed the same as the 3 series, luckily (or not) BMW is quite consistent in the way certain "functions" in the car are colored...

I was thinking you could measure across and it would give you polarity...

Bit late now Steve, all done and boxed up. Sounds great so I take it they're in phase. I can't see BMW using a yellow and red striped wire for
+ in on series of car and then changing it to - in another series of car. That would be inviting trouble and confusion. And the wiring in my Z corresponds to the chart too. Apart from that I don't have a multi-meter atm.
