Speaker upgrade

As the title says I've done a simple speaker upgrade. After watching AnubisZed video on his speaker upgrade I thought its worth trying it as my standard 6 speaker system was crap.
So after using his links to which speakers to get from Aliexpress I placed my order which also included a pair of tweeters which my car hadn't got. Speakers arrived yesterday so thought I get them swapped over today. Nice esay job and the sound difference is loads better for not alot of money.

Did you say you didn’t have tweeters before? The ones next the side mirrors?

I’ve done a similar upgrade and added the mids to the doors. Might do the larger ones in the footwell at some point

Yes that's right, no tweeters before but if you buy them they are just plug and play as they plug into the door speakers.
I changed the mids in the doors and the ones behind under top seat belt mounts

I've just been on the link and it maybe looks like they don't have any more in stock. I'll get part numbers off my boxes tonight and see if I can find them from another supplier in there

I’m having new door cards fitted on Thursday, and this has made me think last minute again

What speakers would you recommend that I can buy online but will be here preferably Wednesday.

Will I really notice any difference changing just the door speakers. Updating everything is on the to do list

Although I originally fitted a better OE (non-iDrive) headunit and it improved the sound quality, I then retrofitted the full iDrive and the sound was very good. I'd also already fitted the tweeters (OE standard ones), which make a difference. I think the fitting of these (fake) Bang & Olufsen BMW speakers did make a difference to the quality, but at the end of the day it really depends what you want to improve upon?

yes they'll still fit but depends on your set up if they're any use to you.. the basic system in the e85 has no speakers in the doors anyway so its a good mod.. if you have the 10 speaker system tho they wouldn't be much use

I decided to bite the bullet and ordered the B&O speakers, out of interest would these speakers handle the vibe amp if I wanted a bit more oomph
