Speaker sizes

Hi everyone.

I'm still trying to sort out the sound in the zed and have decided to go for a pair of 6x9 subs running through an amp via a Cleensweep for the rear (in the cubbies) and keeping the stock set up at the front, for the moment.
I just have 2 questions: Is the sound to the rear mids full frequency range and what size are the rear mids as I'm going to replace these too. I have the standard radio with sat nav and 6 speakers.

10 speaker setup (HiFi):

Low-range speakers (woofers):
The front woofers (low-range speakers) are mounted at the bottom in the A-pillars on the
left and right. The woofers are arranged transversely with respect to forward direction.
The resonance volume is approx.10 l and utilizes a part of the sill area.
Rear woofers are additionally installed in the partition behind the seats.

High-range speakers (tweeters)
The tweeter has a diameter of 26 mm and a fabric cap or calotte. The maximum load
capacity is 25 W. The tweeter (high-range speaker) covers a frequency range from 4000 Hz
to 20,000 Hz. The tweeter is connected to the woofer.
The frequency range of the high-range speaker is set by means of a capacitor.
The tweeter (high-range speaker) is located in a panel mounted in the mirror triangle.
The output direction of the tweeter is directed at the head area of the occupant opposite.
The tweeter (high-range speaker) is based on a sealed design.

Mid-range speakers
The mid-range speakers have a diameter of 100 mm and a paper cone. The maximum load
capacity is 25 W. The mid-range speaker covers a frequency range from 100 Hz to 15,000
Hz. The front and rear mid-range speakers are of identical design.
The front mid-range speakers are fitted in the doors. The rear mid-range speakers are
mounted behind the seats. The front mid-range speakers emit sound transversely with
respect to forward direction. The mid-range speakers utilize the resonance volume of the
doors. The output of the rear mid-range speakers is aligned in forward direction. The resonance
volume is approx. 2 l.

50 W. The woofers (low-range speakers) cover a frequency range from 50 Hz to 500 Hz.
The front woofers (low-range speakers) are mounted at the bottom in the A-pillars on the
left and right.

High-range speakers (tweeters)
The tweeter has a diameter of 26 mm and a fabric cap or calotte. The maximum load
capacity is 25 W. The tweeter (high-range speaker) covers a frequency range from 4000 Hz
to 20,000 Hz.

Carver woofers (low-range speakers), rear
The Carver woofers have a diameter of 160 mm and a paper cone in Carver technology.
The maximum load capacity is 100 W. The Carver woofers cover a frequency range from
30 Hz to 150 Hz.
The rear Carver woofers are accommodated in the partition behind the seats. The resonance
volume is approx.10 l.
 
that's not correct though - in the 6spk setup there are no mids in the doors.

plus that doesn't answer whether it's got an inline crossover to the rear mids - i belive it's a resistor attached to the speaker though.

i have a cleansweep but I had it fitted for me, works brilliantly.
 
Andy he has listed both 6 and 10 speaker set ups.

OP check into the amount work necessary to change the speakers mounted behind the rear seats as you will have to remove virtually the entire rear of the car to change them.

My apologies, I should have read it all properly rather than just scanning it and reading that it was quoting both 6 & 10 speaker set ups. :headbang:
 
Thanks again everyone. I'll look into the work required to change the rear mids as I guess the difference in the sound wouldn't be that great. Wish me luck! Marc.
 
Agreed I don't think you'll find any point swapping them, decent 3 ways in the front and your 6x9s in the boxes and you shouldn't need anything else.

I've got 6.5 subs in the rear boxes instead... there's enough mid range from the front to warrant taking the entire rear console off.
