Hi all

Hope everybody is keeping safe and well.

Just a quick question, I am changing the plugs on the Z, and would like to know the torque setting for them if anybody knows it off the top of their head.

Cheers in advance.

Paul.

This may help. https://www.motor-doctor.co.uk/spark-plug/bmw/z4/z4-e89/116678-sdrive-20-i

screw them in finger tight then a 1/4 turn to tighten is enough, they are a taper fit and will not come loose.

Or he could tighten them to the provided torque value given by bmw. It only takes 2 minutes

Years of working in aviation has gotten me into the habbit of working to values. If there is a torque setting I use it

See if the torque value equates to a 1/4 turn (ish)...... Just out of interest...
The tip was for those who don't have a torque wrench.
I served a 3 year motor vehicle engineer apprenticeship with a now defunct motor dealer called Armstrong Massey based in Beverley/Hull.
They were Rolls Royce/Daimler/Jaguar/Aston dealers as well as BL so I know it works, its also a good checkpoint if your torque wrench is busted, wrongly set etc and does not click...

Ok, job done. Finger tight and torqued to 23nm

Finger tight and turned 1/4 turn = 25.3nm

I think both methods will work just fine.

Thanks for the help gents
