Spark plug removal tool

Thinking of changing my spark plugs ( NGK Iridium plugs seem to be the way to go).

What tool do you use to remove the plugs, there seem to be lots of options out there?

I'm assuming I don't need any other specialist tools?
 
I have a 3/8 drive long magnetic socket similar to this: Laser 3682 Magnetic Plug Socket 250mm 10mm 3/8"dr by Laser http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003724HUM/ref=cm_sw_r_other_udp_awd_ZDlUwbWYEZX98
 
I think any sparkplug socket (in the correct size) will do with an extension bar and ratchet.
Usually a sparkplug socket has a magnet or a rubber grommet inside that keeps the plug from falling out/
Most sparkplug sockets are 3/8"drive but you can also get them in 1/2" drive.

Apply some (very little) copper grease to the threads when you install the new plugs. And thread them in by hand (with just the socket and extension bar) to prevent cross threading.
Then torque down to specs.
 
i can't remember when i last changed a set of spark plugs - how bad is that :thumbsdown:
 
When removing the coil/plug caps,if the middle two are tight and awkwardly close to the vanos motor,I used a pair of nylon pry bars to pop them off,without damage.How were the headlamp bulbs?
