Guys i think its harder for Admin to get rid of these posts if you comment on them...i think its better if you report them without commenting on them...............

Yes, just hit the topic delete which is what I do on the xdrivers sister site.

Has anyone here reported that spam post to the mods?
easy enough to find out - just hit the report post button, if it is already reported it tells you.

Hunter is correct. It is a bit easier when the thread was made by the spammer but harder when the spammer comments half way through a thread. What should I do then, remove the whole thread?

The other situation is if the spammer goes nuts and makes hundreds of threads... I would then use the "delete user and all posts" option, but if I do that then all your comments will be left behind and you will look like you made the thread yourself.

Please please please... report rather than comment! Thanks

Just a thought (and it must be a bit annoying for newbies & not sure how big your mod staff is) but the 350Z forum has a 5 post rule where newbies have to have their first 5 posts approved by a mod prior to it showing up.

Not a bad idea, however there are not that many mods and at present I think approving all the initial posts would be a bigger task than the odd spammer that gets through.

Guess if the balance tips then it's something to look at.

Make Adamski, Bing, Andysat, Taz x and Carol all MODS and then spam posts will be spotted and deleted within seconds :)

EDIT : Hang on if Taz is a MOD all roadster posts will disappear too, and Adamski will delete Coupe posts, so best stay as we are!

i have not read the kitchen spam but i'm wondering if i should cos i need a new kitchen

I'm not sure I've ever re-instated a spam message, or unbanned a spammer so you can read the advert. New territory for me...
