Hi all I am looking for a spacesaver spare wheel and tyre and jack suitable for my 2003 2.5. It has Alpinas on it at the moment which I think are 17's I am not sure what size spacesaver I will need, if anyone can help either with one to buy or advice it would be most welcome.
Thanks
Steve

Depends what model you have. https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=107556

What year is your car?

Just saw you have a 2.5 so you’ll be okay with a 16” space saver. Easier to source those ones as well

If it's of any interest I have a Draper scissor jack free to a good home if you want it; would only cost you postage. It's one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-53093-1-Tonne-Scissor-Jack/dp/B0001K9V90/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=draper+scissor+jack&qid=1574197389&sr=8-2

I originally bought it to carry as an emergency type thing, but I've never used it and I don't like it rattling around in the boot, so it's yours if you want it.

That reminds me, I really need to post an advert for my 17" unused spacesaver with jack and wheelbrace!

OK, so here goes - but to be fair someone sent me a PM earlier so he has 1st dibs on it.

It will definitely fit in the boot of an E86 though.

Photos are here:-

I paid £100 a couple of years ago, but realise I might have got carried away!

But it needs to go.

17" wheels are expensive so I'd expect to pay around £75+
If you're doing as a set, then £100 sounds about fair :)

Quick update then, and it is the full set of wheel, jack, wheelbrace and the plywood support.

I got a PM last night around 10.30 and replied at 11.20, but my reply hasn't been read yet. How long should I wait to be fair to the guy who PM'd me?

Hi again, as the post seems to have gone off track a little... I would like to buy a spacesaver spare wheel and jack if anyone has one please
thanks for all the replies Steve

I don't want to take your post off track - but just remember that you will have to put the punctured full sized wheel in the boot after you've changed it!

That’s what a passenger is for! They can hold it in their lap... Especially when you’re dressed up for a night out!

Well after selling mine I wanted to get a BMW jack, and while I was browsing I found these:-
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2507978.m570.l1313.TR12.TRC2.A0.H0.Xbmw+spacesaver.TRS0&_nkw=bmw+spacesaver&_sacat=0

As you have a 2.5Si a 16" one should fit if you've got standard brakes - it's only 3.0Sis that need a 17" because the front brakes are bigger. I'd stick to 3 Series ones as I'm pretty sure 5 Series wheels have a larger centre bore.

Good luck.

Been looking for a 16inch space saver for my recently aquired 2.5 of 2003 vintage, run flats long gone and I don't want to rely on a tin of tyre gunk. Already carry a 12v compressor and don't mind filling the boot with a space saver. Any suggestions on what I should be looking for, will any 16inch Bmw space saver fit? Jack is easy enough to pick up.

Will need to be a 16" off an e46... others may fit as well but e46 version is a guaranteed fit :)

Should be pretty cheap like: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221520447462

I bought an e46 16 in on eBay the other week for £30.I have tried it on and it clears the front callipers .

That link kis provided is exactly what you want for any E85 that isn't an M or a 3.0Si, and Quarry Motors seem pretty good.

Because I sold my jack as part of the package with my 17" space-saver, I wanted a replacement. I ordered from Quarry Motors on Tuesday evening and it arrived yesterday - cost just £19.99 delivered.
