Spacers & Tram-lining

My Z4 came with spacers (15mm front, 20mm rear) fitted.

It tramlined really badly when I got it - I've since replaced front wishbone and rtab bushes, got it aligned and adjusted the power steering which has helped - but it's still not great.

However, the handling itself still isn't terribly confidence inspiring - my other car, a RenaultSport Megane, feels way more planted on the road.

I have runflats on the front, and one on the back (I know...) which isn't helping, but has anyone added or removed spacers and noticed any differences? I think the stance is great but if they are influencing the way it drives then they'll be coming off.

They won't be changing anything much, get your tyres changed

I just commented on this in another thread. Have a read up on scrub radius. I removed my spacers and the tram-lining I was suffering from was greatly diminished. I not saying this is definitely the cause but it can be and for the relative ease of removing the spacers it must be worth a shot. The run flats will definitely not be helping though.

Having one runflat and one non-runflat on the same axel (on the back by the sound of it) is a big no-no.

Get the rubber replaced and try to get the same tyre on all corner. i.e. all Michelin PSS for example. Don’t have Goodyear’s on the front and Pirelli on the back...
