Spacers - Pro's n Cons?

Why do people fit spacers on the Z4's? Looks only or is there any other reason?

Is it so the wheels fill the arches better? Just rears or fronts also?

What size spacers for those who have them?

I'd like the look to subtle if I go down this route so what size would I need?

Is handling affected?

Personally hadn't even considered fitting spacers until I fitted aero side skirts then all of a sudden the wheels looked lost (18" 107's) which I have to be honest I love.

Even then it was only because a set came up on here.
20mm rear 15mm fronts.
Really like the look and no effect on the handling that I can tell.

For me it was purely a cosmetic decision, I felt the 108s were lost under the arches so I've got 12mm at the front and 18mm rear. I've not noticed any change in handling

Usually if you put spacers on the front wheels it can affect steering feel.

Also, there's the weight of them. Probably not much in the grand scheme of things, but some people get upset by it. Unsprung weight and all that.

I have 20mm rear spacers on mine. Happy to report that it doesn't affect anything as far as I can tell. Approx 30,000 miles done with them on. Makes a huge difference in terms of appearance. The wheels look lost in the arches as standard.

I'm considering these for mine. Any reason I should swerve them?

They are Mtec so should be ok. Yes they are a good price with the bolts.
20mm rear 10mm front is a suggestion. I had 15mm up front with msport suspension and they used to catch the inner arches. 20mm rear no problems
