Hello, i am a z4 owner since 1 week. The car looks great but it defenitely needs wheel spacers. can anybody tell me where i can get them for both front and back sides. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi and welcome Jos, there are always plenty of wheel spacers on eBay dependant upon the size you require, good luck

Welcome along, some pictures of your Z4 and an introduction in the Newbies section would be great!

As mentioned, eBay seems best for spacers I reckon

I wondered about the way the rears are tucked under.

If you put spacers on won't they alter the handling, make it easier to catch a kerb with the rear wheels, and stress the suspension a little more?

I'd agree - they're very boy racer and if the car needed them they'd be fitted.

I'd also ask your insurance company for comment first - can you imagine the field day that a vehicle assessor would have if they were investigating a major accident involving your car with its Carlos Fandango spacers?

Really? With that outlook surely nobody would mod their cars at all - whether for aesthetic or performance gains. I think I'm right in saying that Porsche fit spacers to some of their cars from the factory.

I do however agree wholeheartedly about telling your insurance company.

Yip, BMW spent ages fine tuning the suspension and didn't realise they could improve things with a little extra track to both axles. :)
However, much like engine tuning, BMW will have been aiming for a compromise that included cost to build, life of the components and a certain 'feel' to the suspension etc. Given the rate at which rear springs seem to pop on Z4's I wouldn't mess with the suspension! Doesn't mean nobody else should though - each to their own. In fact I enjoy seeing what other people have done to their cars.

Welcome to the forum Jos, and since the modding has already started I'll be keen to see pictures as more mods stack up! (get some p.hotos of the car posted up as standard first though)

Welcxome and x2

hey... ive 12mm spacers on my fronts. just brings the wheels out slightly more to be flush wit the arches. the rears dont need any, unless you are very picky - like into the Stance thing - which case you would be looking at 5mm or something. you will need to get the good ones - not the manky ones from fleabay - as they are prone to warping, splitting, wrong hole alignment, etc etc. usual stuff.

good luck!
