Spacers, do they affect the driving experience?

Hi guys and girls,
I am thinking of putting spacers on my 2.5si sport e85, its just for the look rather than anything else but I wanted to know if anyone has noticed wether it would actually affect the quality of the drive?
Karen has already curbed one alloy and I also wander if it would make the possibility of another crunch more likely.

Depends how wide the spacers are. Excessive spacers can put extra strain on wheel bearing and other parts, as they change the load and weight characteristics.

In reality, narrow spacers (say, 15mm) will widen the track of the car, but you won't really notice the difference.

Of course you'd do well to give the Mrs a refresher on parallel parking

Thanks for the replies, it is something that I really want to do. I will end up with two sets of wheels, one being refurbed and one waiting to be crunched!. :x
