Space Shuttle

Very very impressive pictures. :thumbsup: I did not know that the payload was inserted into the shuttle as it arrived at the launch pad. BTW, VAB stands for Vehicle Assembly Building, not Vertical Assembly Building. :roll:
 
I have had the privileged to have seen three shuttle liftoffs... The first two we were as close a were allowed. About 1.5 miles away.

Rick, the noise is something to experience. Not so much loud, but felt......physically felt...

If you like this stuff and are in Florida, take the time (a whole day) to go out to the KSC and take the tour.... well worth it...

Yup, I did... back in '03. I'd do it again!

I bought a bunch of souvenirs while I was there too, but they didn't sell any minivan t-shirts. :(
