To those of you who have invested in a space saver - if you are running 18" wheels can you get the punctured one into your boot? I'm considering investing in one.
Hi Rockhopper. Early last year I was kindly given an E46 space-saver by forum friend Havard. It is the usual BMW black steel affair and has a Continental 125/80R17 tyre fitted. I bought a full size wheel bag for it. Inside the wheel itself I keep a genuine E46 scissor jack, wheel brace, 17mm socket etc.
Fortunately I've not had occasion to use it (Fingers crossed I don't have to) so no photos of one of the full size 18" in its place. However, another forum friend AlienZed used to carry a full size 18" spare (front IIRC) when on long UK and Euro trips. Don't think he'll mind me sharing this photo It takes up the same space but obviously a bit more depth.
For comparison I do have a photo of one of my F11 5er 19" (245/40R19) alloys in the boot of my E85Possibly the only major issue if you had to change the space-saver for the full size 18" would be reduced luggage space and having to re-arrange things a bit
Would you share what wheel bag you have and how well you like it? I'd like to get one for my compact spare. In addition to keeping things tidy, I'd like to minimize the aroma of vulcanized rubber inside the car.

HiZ4Mariner I bought this one in the largest size, XXXXL ? Car Spare Wheel Tire Tyre Cover Storage Bag Case Protector (Large, Diameter: 59 cm / Width: 16 cm) https://amzn.eu/d/cMgCDIv
It's quite loose obviously but I suppose at the price you could buy a smaller size just for the space-saver and have the larger one just for the full size 18" wheel. Reasonably well made, black waterproof canvas, carry handles and velcro on the underside
