space saver advice please

Hi my son has just bought a 2003 2.5 with mv2 alloys and non run flat tyres, would it be best to get a space saver, plus jack and brace, do you also need the pad which fits on the jack to fit in the jacking point ,ive read the e46 3 series jack and wheel fit, is this correct or do i just get some tyre weld, if so which one, many thanks for any replies
 
Any jack will do ,o have got audi tt jack and 15'' e46 light weight space saver for long jorneys
