Sound generator

Went out in No.5s 3 litre over the weekend and that has the sound generator in it ... great engine sound on positive acceleration, very addictive and I definitely want one for my 2.5 now!

If anyone has a complete sound generator with all the required bits then please PM me

Yeah me the whole lot is yours if you want it. Apart from the small foam sections. I knew i shouldn't have given the one away!!

Did Allan have all the foam in his? I will ask him.

If it makes you feel any better it was/is greatly appreciated! Going from none (as I bought mine) to both in has made a world of difference and I do really like the more refined approach. Then again I am getting old now!

By refined I take it you mean 'quieter', not so up front, relaxed, SENSIBLE. Have you test driven a Ford Focus? Maybe it's time to sell up and move on

I'm in the camp its a noise, a loud noise but not a nice noise and this is coming from someone who's missus had till recently a 300bhp Scirocco with proper induction kit and full exhaust. Not a Focus but close!
Now that did sound nice when giving it some stick, the sound generator mod doesn't sound anything like that make a nice noise, it sounds artificial and certainly isn't V8esque as some have claimed.

Coming to think of it, maybe its you who should sell up and buy a noisy Focus with a Maxpower sticker then!

I've never tried mine with the foam in...A maxpower sticker? Sounds great, is it some kind of induction kit? I certainly don't think the SG gives a V8 sound. It doesn't sound artificial, in my car at least. It sounds like a straight 6 air intake. Maybe I could drop a scirroco or whatever you call it engine into my Z. Most of the cars nowadays seem to be pretty quick, the only thing is they all look the same; s**t!
I've always riled against the 'norm'. If the majority says black, it's white as far as I'm concerned. Best stop there I think, hehe.
I take the Z as a fun car, I love everything about it except it's not quick enough. The Supercharger will sort this out to around the 5.2sec mark and I'll be happy with that...For a while :wink: I just want the pull, atm it starts to pull then it doesn't quite deliver. Not to say that I haven't had some great moments at 135 and it still had a bit to go, it really responds quickly once your over the 100 mark, but I want the power lower down the revs.
