Wow, just removed the foam from my Sound Generator and it now sounds great...!

Just wanted to share that :D

There are 2 separate foam pieces: one in each end. I didn't know if you knew that.

No, I just did the bulkhead one.
Will have a look

Really fun to play with. Keep the foam for long trips though. Add a bit more smile per mile. :D

Popped mine back in as done some long trips plus its nice to here the sound of the car outside when you have the top down sports mode on it sounds great.

My brother said it sounded to boy racer with the foam out and a friend agreed after being in the car with the foam back in it sounds more like a prestige car as it should but as its such a quick job can always pop the foam out when i want that nice bark inside the cabin.

The theory behind this bit of engineering genius is to connect the driver to the engine audibly without making the car loud, they did. Outside of the drivers/passengers compartment you really don't hear it much at all. So mr mystik, you would not have another honda anyway. :bmwvhonda: :roundel:

I also experimented with taking out the foam.

Tried just front, just back, and both out.

After a while I put them both back in. I like the sound, but it was just a little too loud.

Have fun,
Bill

oOoOoooooooo
thank you! see... i was always afraid that it would sound nasty. i didn't want that. but.. i stand corrected.

I just drop the top back off in traffic, get some clear space, then floor it in tunnels - that's my dose of pure adrenelin for a while, each time I do it.. :)

Totally agree, i go through the same tunnel (although not very long) twice a day !....enough noise until i get my Gallardo anyway!
I also didnt know it had 2 pieces of foam at both ends, i have one removed and its loud enough for me, also it doesnt become noisey until higer revs anyway, so you can still have best of both worlds, loud & quiet.

The tunnel at Leeds Bradford airport is the best one round here (is that the one you go through?)

Well, when i said tunnel, its more of an underpass. However i have been through a proper tunnel near Manchester Airport, now that is awesome. In fact i think it goes beneath the runways (the tunnel towards Alderley Edge incase anybody is in the neighbourhood).

Yep the one at Leeds Bradford goes under the runway, just not long enough unfortunately, although it is dual so you blast past people

Gotta enjoy it while it lasts

Sorry i think i am being stupid.. but can someone tell me where is the "foam" located?! sounded interesting so may play around with it!

Tried my generator with both foam parts out at the weekend! Over 5,000 RPM when accelerating, way to loud! :o

Put the bigger foam piece back in again. Great feature of the car though. :driving:
