Sound Generator

I know the Z4s have these on other models to increase noise in cabin, does the Z4M have this too? Just wondered as I was in mate's M3 and there seemed to be a very nice rasp coming from somewhere under the dash making me wonder if the M3 has a sound generator and of course the Z4M?

I don't think the z4m has got one. If I'm not mistaken only the non M models do have it.

The Z4M does have a sound generator, it consists of an inlet manifold, six cylinders, and exhaust manifold and tubes to the rear of the car... makes for a hell of a sound!

p.s. there are a few more pieces required to make the above sound.

Well sort of... 2 tubes... made to look like 4 by the time it pokes out the back

New M5 hs a sound generator!

Reason I wondered is that all the noise from my four straight through pipes comes from the rear of the car while on my mate's M3 there is a definate front cabin sound being piped into the car. Wondered if opening up the blanked off generator (assuming it has a hole where it should go) would enhance the already wonderful sound!
