Sound enhancement mod question

Hey, I just tried the sound enhancement mod, just for fun, and I have a question.

Will this make the engine slightly leaner running? And if so will the ecu compensate or will I get any long term damage, or are the filters in the pipe way past the air filter and it's purely a noise thing and no risk?

Gets damn loud at high revs and I was thinking of putting one of the inserts back in...

Haha! I can see how it would grate a bit after a while... Thought I might pop the smaller sponge back in first (nearer the air box) and take it from there...

This is one mod I was going to do first off when we got the Zed last Oct but I haven't simply as most say the constant noise it creates kind of grates on you after a while.

I like the calmness in the cabin as we are cruising along so I'll give it a miss. Being nigh on 50yr old, my age seems to have reigned my 'chav side' in a little

Well for what it's worth easy driving it makes little difference. It only really resonates if you floor it, and gets a bit harsh up near 6k revs.... I actually found I could drive the car without it kicking in....that's with a 6speed manual. Saying that I think some of the sponge back in will be a good middle ground... It is nice to really hear the engine sound though, and having a motorbike too I'm used to induction noise :) :)

I cut the firewall sponge in half.

Found that was perfect balance as you didn't hear anything extra when cruising but a bit more noise when you hammer it.

I can't hear mine over my exhaust anyway  but I did useto love the noise. It was only noisy when you stepped on the loud pedal
