Sound deadening hard top

In the process of retrimming my hard top headlining and having taken the fibreglass ‘tub’ out, was wondering if I should put sound deadening in the area on the image below?

Anyone else done this and noticed any worthwhile difference? I’m aware it will add a little weight, but thought it might help a little with insulation or to lessen road/wind noise?

While I’m here, is it worth adding a rubber strip to the area in the second image, to help with wind noise or will this mess up the seal with the windscreen?

Also discovered my hard top used to be grey apparently… :D

Cheers,
Tony

Brilliant, thank you  Did you recover the headlining too? If so, what fabric did you go for out of interest?

No …all I did was remove the shell which has a crazy amount of screws and lined Main Roof and replaced the shell.
