Still learning the Z4 (E85)

I pressed the SOS button [yes, I did, I couldn't resist the temptation  :headbang:  ].
Now it continues to flash, even with the key off.

How do I reset it?

Hazard warning lights ??
Ok so if that is the case then the button is probably broken. Disconnect the battery, then disconnected the button. Might be easier said than done.

Note the question marks after my comment Mr G, not sure either

In the US they have an SOS button where we have the little pocket in the centre console behind the handbrake.

Do have the buttons on newer models. Sure it’s not an e89?

Problem resolved...
Disconnected battery for an hour.
Now button no longer flashes and radio works again.

For those who do not know what the SOS button is, I attached a pic.

I think I may just unplug these buttons all together to prevent a re-occurnace since they are not used (BMW concierge or Road Side Assistance).
:P

Yep I cottoned on to that a bit late. Doesn't seem like it is that one.
Edit I see we have a pic now. Never seen one of those before.

I was in a BMW service desk some years ago and a manager ask a desk person to answer a phone call. I could hear everything. A persons car had broken down on a local ring road and the service person said phone BMW assist. The person stated that they, the dealer had only serviced the car the day before.

In the UK now aswell, my Jag has them, one is for emergencies and one is for anything else, apparently if you're lost they can tell where you are and give guidance etc.

This was for BMW Assist in the USA. 4 years of free service was included with the cars when new, then they tried to get you to subscribe for some massively overpriced yearly subscription - and by then, everyone had a cellphone, rendering the concept mostly obsolete anyways - certainly not worth paying a handsome sum for.

I believe the telephone connection was to Verizon's old analog network, and therefore this hardware is now obsolete anyways. Can anyone stateside confirm this?

I replaced my switches with a BMW oddment tray, that was fitted in cars without BMW Assist. Doesn't add much storage but any little bit helps when there's so little in the first place. Takes 30 seconds to swap it out. Here's info..

that oddment tray is a great idea I shall keep in mind, but I have an idea...
I think I will unplug the connector from the cars internal wiring and hard wire those switches to garage door opener remotes :driving:, and stash the remotes' under that center console.

^^ garage door opener - BRILLIANT idea. If only somebody would produce modified switch modules with Homelink built-in that would drop right in and replace the SOS stuff, that would be awesome and would sell like hotcakes.

I quite like those switches, much better than the stupid pocket thing. With a little bit of artwork they could get relabled as ejector seat buttons ! :D

So I did it, I hard wired the obsolete sos and Assistance push buttons to remotes for my garage door and gate openers.
:D
