Morning, tiglon. As well as adding a rear 'M' badge, have you painted your mirror backs? One of the distinguishing features of the 35iS is that they're usually usually silver, of course, and not body coloured.
Those astute enough to choose VO were rewarded by having proper body-coloured mirrors. :poke: :D
A pity to lose one of the distinguishing features of the 35iS.

Each to their own I guess.
Never did anything for me...........or the grilles.
But if we were all of the same opinion it would be a boring place.

I think removing the OE badges is quite an improvement.

I wouldn't put an M badge on a non-M car, but it's your car so your choice - although it definitely doesn't look right where it is. A bit lower down might work better.

The M-Sport E89 has got M badges all over it, from the wheels to the steering wheel to the sill kick plates, etc, etc.

M badge

What about 'My other car is a Porsche' in the back window?

You're a friendly, welcoming chap, aren't you? Looks like the OP has been scared off by all the love and bonhomie on this forum.

That's true! My 3.0Sis were both Sport models so had M badges on the wheels and M-Sport steering wheel.

But no black M badge on the boot.

Hope not, each to their own and everybody is different, if we weren't we'd all be driving the same car, how boring would that be

This thread was always in danger of upsetting the masses and whilst i'm one of them we all appreciate others rights to have opinions but we must accept a bit of banter and crack on doing what you want. :driving:

Same for me - his car and he is free to do what he wants with it, think the black badges will look great onto wings - the smooth look on the back is good.

As you said it will upset some but Big is free to do as he please

I was under the impression that black M badges were for the "performance" Ms anyway.

I guess Tiglon put this thread up as a conversation starter, so I would be surprised if he takes offence

The previous ownwer of mine debadged it, ripped the bloody paint off the front wing and touched it up with what looked like a bog brush. Whilst I waited to have an oportunity to get it sorted I bought some cheap chinese SDrive 35iS badges to cover it up. I liked the debadged look but not the bodge, after my little accident, the front end was repainted and badges replaced with official BMW ones so now it looks perfect although I wouldv'e been more than happy not to have them. Being silver the mirrors don't stand out so not obvious whats under the bonnet, not that it matters to anybody else cos it's my car.

Badges make difference to me - I want to keep the car as close to original as I can so they are staying on mine - especially after what happened to yours :(

Same, but I'm happy with mine, whilst prices have gone up you'll need a LOT of money to convince me to let it go know even though I believe once this nutty lockdown is over I expect it to be worth similar to what I paid for it

Maintaining the purity of badging on cars is important to some but it’s funny to see others being playful with identifying what they are driving. Many years ago I pulled up behind a Ford Sierra and had to do a double take on the boot lid. The comedy badge looked the business but it actually said ‘Sierra Codsworth’ I was still smiling about that much later

Will’s car he can do what he wants and having spoken too and met him he’s got a good enough sense of humour to laugh off the comments and banter. He tee’d that up with his title of the topic
