Hi guys,

Just got hold of a new to me Z4M coupe having sold my last one a good few yrs back.

It's come on a set of 19''CSL reps. The rears seem to be the same dimensions/offset/tyre size etc as genuine CSL rims however im getting tyre rub on the arches which is biting into the sidewall. Suspension is Bilstein shocks on standard ride height BMW springs (all brand new). From what ive read these shouldn't be rubbing.

Dimensions are 19'' x 9.5j ET27 and have Pilot sport 4s which are 265 30 19, no spacers

Can anyone enlighten me, should it be rubbing at standard height with these wheels?

I'm wanting to add Eibach pro spring kit but that seems a massive no go at the mo.

Thanks in advance!

Some people get rubbing, some don't. I did with genuine CSLs and 265/30r19 rears.

It's probably down to the lack of quality control in Spartanburg, USA :sneaky:

What sort or black magic is that, surely they are all identical...what a mare! Well that's probably sealed the deal with me going for a set of 18's then, anybody got a spare set of arc-8 knocking around that they'd want to sell?

Rubbing at the rear with CSL fitment and 265/30 is unusual. Yes, it’s a little bit wider than stock, but also almost 2cm less diameter.

I’ve run 265/30, 275/30, 255/35 and 265/35 on the rear, OEM CSLs, slightly lowered with no issues. 285/30 is reportedly possible (and still “shorter” than stock).

Is it rubbing both sides (calm down, gents…)?

Can you do a simple sanity check of your static camber like this? My top rim is ~2cm inboard of the bottom one.

My car came with CSL Reps the same size and offset as yours and the same size tyres. Even on H & R coil-overs 18mm lower than stock I didn't get any rubbing - well not once the spacers were removed!

A camber check sounds like a good idea.
