SORNing without a garage

Have you tried our in house insurance (z4 forum)

Phoned Chris Knott, and they won't do laid up cover with or without a garage

Just checked with Admiral Insurance as my Z4 is now laid up in the garage and on a Sorn for the winter, with a current MOT.

After advising them of the above, Admiral confirmed that my comprehensive cover still applies. :?

It's insurance mate. There doesn't have to be a reason. Computer says no!

Excellent, as mine is with Admiral as well.

The excuse of that the car is not legal, I don't buy. As the car is fully legal as it is not on the road (SORN) and it does not even need an MOT when off road either. And it is legal to drive without tax and MOT to an MOT station, and it would obviously be a major issue if you were not insured during that trip.

I need counciling for insurance as well with regards to fines impacting your premium as well as non fault accidents :lol:

Just phoned to cancel insurance with Howden (KGM) as Admiral had said they would cover me. Guy at Howden says "You are covered for SORN on your existing policy, it's just we can't offer you a reduced rate for laid up cover" :headbang: :roll:
