My road tax is due at the end of the month and I intend to take the vehicle of the road for 4-6 months during the winter. Is there a better way of paying for it which would make things easier when I do this (12 months or monthly) or does it make no difference as I have never done this before?

you can pay monthly then cancel close to the end of whichever month you're putting it off road, i usually do it in November

I always pay 12 months up front and then sorn as and when required. Normally four months of the year.
