My mate Bob went to South Africa and got to fly in a Lightning at Thunder City - once in a lifetime trip. He got to fly a custom flight profile of his choice: Vertical take-off, 50000ft to see the curvature of the earth, multiple Mach and low level flying as well. We were learning to fly microlights at the time and he has this flight in his log book!
Sadly, the Lightning he flew in, crashed a few years ago and killed the pilot he flew with as well.
