Soon to be Z4 owner

Hello all

Just saying hi after putting a deposit down on a 2009 30i Auto. It'll be replacing my TT 3.2 V6.

The Z4 is currently on runflats on 19 inch rims. After having Mini's for many years all of which were on runflats, I was taken aback by how harsh the ride was on the Z4, even for me who likes it firm. But I guess the 19 inches are responsible for that! Fortunately the front tyres on the Z4 came up as being close to legal limit on the MOT so the trader has given me the choice of either 2 new runflats or 4 new non runflats. I think it'll definitely be the non runflats.

Never had a rear wheel drive either so that'll be a learning curve!

Hi and welcome. Right choice with non-run flats.

If you have browsed the forum you will know that the posting of a few pics used to be appreciated. The rules have, however, recently changed - they are now obligatory! :D

Enjoy :driving:

I will do when I work out how to do it :(

There is no option to attach/upload anything like on other forums Ive used

 welcome along , another E89 owner, yay :-) I'm feeling a bit outnumbered. When you change your tyres, are you going to keep those wheels? Or move them on and get some one ones...?

Hi there :D

I'm keeping the wheels I reckon, will see how the ride is on the non runflats. If it's still too much then I might reconsider and look at 18's. Would be a shame though, I like the look of the 19's

Yep. I've got 17's with RFTs - short of cash just now but hoping to find some nice 18 or 19 in the spring.

Yeah I really do...

Looks stunning buddy

Looks lovely bet you cant wait

Just check with him what non run flat tyres he is putting on, nothing worse than some dodgy non branded tyres being fitted as they will ruin the car experience for you and be pretty dangerous!

I'm an open minded kind of person and don't necessarily think that a big brand is always better than a lesser known brand as I've found that often that is not the case.

I'm not wanting to start a tyre debate here, all I'll say is that I've experienced both top end and low end tyres and have never had a problem with any of them. I come from a motor trade family so tend to go on the info I get that way when choosing tyres.

Thats your decision amd some low end tyres are ok but thats all they will ever be 'ok' Just saying IMO i would not be oputting low end tyres on a 3.0 sports car :)

Enjoy

My 3.2 V6 TT had budget tyres on when I bought it. They were brand new so I thought I'd see how they fared. In comparison to the Pirellis on my TTS, the budgets on the V6 are far better :o
