Sonos Connect or just Play1

In my office, I have a mini hifi system.

Planning to install Sonos in the house with the connect to the lounge amp, and then add a couple of Play 3 units in other rooms. The office is connected via CAT 5 to the router in the house.

So does it make more sense to get a connect unit in the office to the hifi there, or just get a Play 1 or so just for the music.

Ooh, I'm looking a Sonos as well. It's quite confusing with all the options. I was looking at a starter kit of a Play 2 or 3. I've just put a wireless access point upstairs to improve the wireless reception in my little office and to facilitate a Sonos setup.

I have sonos all round my house, best bit of hifi kit i`ve ever bought.
Don`t buy the controller though, way to pricey, just download the controller app to your smartphone. 8)

Stuart - extending your wifi does not help as Sonos does not use that, unless you put their bridge on the AP (or Play 1 / 3 or 5).

Just bought the whole lot, connect, couple of Play 1 and Play 3.

Load of free bridges for which I have no use :)

Got it all installed, great fun, especially with Spotify that at least works with different music on different HiFi units from the same account

The iTunes library is so much easier to use then via the Apple products (Apple TV use of iTunes is not great with having to have the monitor on). The app fort the phone and iPad is great to use.

Excellent toy, definitely my toys of the year :)
