Something must be wrong with me...

I actually like this, no more than like. I know, the grills, the size, the almost everything, but I cannot help it and it's 100% electric. What is wrong with me?

One of three things, drunk / seriously hungover or not had an eye test for a few years

Actually, no nothing positive to say about other than I like the colour :D

I don’t dislike it, there’s some interesting aspects of the design, however the front is just hideous. Please BMW, I understand that you want to sell to the Chinese but just think about the rest of us Westerners, whom think that there’s no way I’m going to part with money for that design philosophy when there’s plenty of other designs out there less outrageous :poke:

The only plus I can think of is that the the bigger the grills and vents, the less potential for stonechips

Surely, that can’t be very aerodynamic, which you would think would be a priority for an electric vehicle?

BMW always seem to have a strange knack whereby any new design initially appears to look awful and it slowly grows on you over time, the Bangle designs was always a case in hand for me.

I quite like the grille, especially on the 3 series but it does improve with having the front number plate to break it up a tad.

Tim.

I would have thought that it was as coefficient as a large plate going face forward, but no, apparently, the drag coefficient is just 0.25 – proof of its outstanding aerodynamics.

Not had alcohol for three days and can still read a vehicle number plate at 20 metres without glasses, so none of those reasons.

I don't believe in Devils or Gods, but I do talk to myself sometimes. It's not that bad, is it?

It really doesn't do it for me visually but, I don't think it's any uglier than most of the other large electric SUV's... although the Skoda looks ok. Aesthetics don't seem to matter with electric car sales, given the amount of Teslas I see around. In fact, aesthetics don't seem to matter much with any car sales these days, given the amount of ugly new cars I see on the road!

I think car makers are still a bit confused about design when it comes to electric cars, they want to make them look futuristic, but they're scared to go too far and make them look too different from ICE cars.

I agree. The opportunity is there to design a car that does not have a hint of a ICE grill. Porsche did it years ago with there rear engine cars and the grills are low to scoop air to cool radiators. EVs can easily have similar with the 'scooped' air cooling the bloody charging pad for the iPhone which gets really, really hot.

Is the 208 this - its exactly the same as the ICE version?
