My neighbour towed his 1934 Citroen round my place last week, he’s had it several years but never really used it & it wouldn’t start anymore.

Looks like a fun project. :D

I drove it back round to him last Thursday, the fuel had gone stale so i drained the tank, cleaned the strange spark plugs & the contact breaker points in the magneto ignition.
Couple of turns on the starting handle & it was away :driving:
Felt a bit strange with the throttle in the middle and the brake pedal on the right :P

Very different!

Funnily enough a mate of mine bought a 1931 Alvis a few months ago that he has just managed to get running.

Think yourself lucky Rob. Being a French car built in a short non-threatening period between the wars, it actually has a forward gear!

So it wouldn't run on pea soup then. Nice bit of TLC Rob.

That truck looks fantastic.

Hopefully your car whispering skills will work again!

The pea soup didn’t look very appetising, so i disposed of it in an environmentally friendly manner

He’s also got some tractors he’s looking to get rid of, they’ve been in storage for a while as well. I don’t know much about those so I’ve been keeping quiet about them, he’s got over 80 of them :o

Interesting collection of vehicles. One of my parents’ neighbours keeps traction engines in his barn. The older I get, the more interesting I find them!

Fascinating what people collect … but 80 tractors :)

Living in the country lots of the farmers have an old tractor in a shed or maybe two

There’s regular local tractor runs which bring out some interesting sights

He actually “discovered” 147 tractors for his auction in the end, sold them all apart from around 20!
I even had a go in a forklift truck for the first time in 35years when i helped load loads of pallets onto the winning customers
Vehicles :P

Don't tell us you were fixing a DeLorean also, and got up to 88mph!

Many farmers collect old tractors where I live too. They tend to paint them all up and 'display' them in their front gardens. :?
