Someone's rear ended my wife!

I booked a day off work today to get a couple of jobs done around the house and wash the wife's Q5.
On her way to work in the zed some woman went up the back of her whilst she was stationary in traffic :slaphead:
The wife's ok (just upset) and it doesn't look too bad, I think it will just be a replacement bumper.
May not be coming to the midlands meet next Sunday though if its not fixed by then :(

Thanks for the offer mate  if its not fixed by then ill come in the Q5 :o leave it in the car park and ride shotgun maybe??

Good lad you have got to be there. Wouldn't be fun without the pi$$ taking!!

Hope you get it back and its a s good as new

Ouch - not good at all.

I expect the damage to be a lot worse than the exterior indicates. Make sure it properly assessed as it could have structural and at least many bent brackets and damaged under the skin items. Take a look at shut lines on doors and boot and the floor of the boot.

Oh dear... someone saw that Auto Express feature and hates your car!

But seriously, glad you're other half is ok, looks like the roof mech (boot lid) is OK but have it all checked out anyhow.

Yeh checked all that, everything looks fine. Fingers crossed its just the bumper.

:(

As CJ says get it fully checked and push for a main dealership as its under warranty.. As the crumple zones are designed to absorb shock and deform... So while the plastic may seem a bit bent here and there it could be a lot worse underneith.

Yeh she got the woman's details photos of the cars and two witnesses details.
It'll get sorted, no problem.

That's bad luck, at least your wife is okay and the zed will soon be fixed, its just a real pain in the arse though. :(

That sucks! So many ignorant drivers out there... probably doing her make up in the sun blocker mirror or talking on her phone... I'd cry a little inside if that happened to me.

Really sorry that's happened Steve, main thing is your better half is unhurt, it just sucks these things happen.

As said get the Zed checked thoroughly, have you tried the roof works ok? as convertibles aren't the best for being shunted. Hope it gets sorted ASAP.

Tim.

Oh that is just bad luck isn't it and relieved that everyone is okay

Sorry to see that mate.

Had the same on my last five series, was repaired at main dealer and was undetectable afterwards. She's ok, that's the main thing.

Looking on the bright side...whats she gonna spend her whiplash money on?

JOKING!!!!

Sorry to see that - other people crashing into my car is a big worry for me, cos there is nothing that can be done. Looks like just the bumper, so fingers crossed.

Regardless of what the insurance say about "approved bodyshops" you actually have a legal right to take it where you want, so ensure it is a BMW approved bodyshop.
