Someone talk me out of it.........

Decisions,decisions!! :D Tricky one this, I'm really hankering after an M car,I know it will empty my wallet with extra RFL,fuel ,servicing and insurance,but as a mate of mine says: " You only go round once", so I've always coveted one, so whilst I can ( or I think I can ) afford one, I may as well jump in. I've had a Z roadster,so I feel a coupe coming on. I can always swap it for a roadster if it doesn't do it for me. :D
 
Give us a few pics of the bike.....

I will as soon as it's finished. It's a replica of the 1985 Paris- Dakar winning BMW GS ( but with about 25% more bhp than the works bikes had at the time). Not everyone's cup of pg tips but will show a clean pair of heels to a few newer bikes up to 100 mph. It's going to painted in full Marlborough colours and will be very noisy,just how bikes should be. I'm building it as a road bike mainly and am planning a blast round the Alps in june.If I do get an M, I'll be properly "toyed up". :D :D
 
To me the decision would be, (1) sell the Roadster 3.0 and get an M Roadster, ..or (2) sell the Roadster and buy,.. any other car.

...because the Z4 Coupe is just like any other car,..and outside the convertibles there's plenty to choose from other than the Z4.

All cars should be built as convertibles, no exceptions and having the roof down should be legally compulsory!
Putting a fixed roof on a convertible!! What next? convert it to a half track?!
I take back what i said earlier, damn the coupe idea: padlock yourself into the Z4, have the tank filled full and drive till neither the dog nor the wife can find you! Flat out in first you should get about 10 miles at least and by god it'll be fun getting there :)
 
Z4M is a lot of reliable, stylish performance for the money. Coupe is a pretty little thing too. It also has that 'I'm so focussed on performance I even gave up the drop top so I could go faster' thing about it :) '

Go for it if it's what you want :thumbsup:
 
I will always own a rag top. You have the option of opened or closed. Hard tops supply no options . . . Z4 Pilot
 
Defo time for a change - you should get a good trade for the missus and the dog.

Like the man said - the coupe is not an upgrade :D ...................
BTW, Im a biker too ....... still race 'em as well, and there's no comparison ...... can't beat top down cruising -

Hard tops on Roasters confuse me even more than Z4 Coupes...

If you had a conservatory at your house would you brick it up ? :popcorn:
 
Had a look at a coupe today and have decided that it's a roadster all the way :D The M roadster isn't different enough ( in the real world) from what I've got so I'm going to keep it, BUT make it what I really want. The stereo needs upgrading ( standard 6 speaker system) so I'll get that upgraded 1st, then I'll look at a few other tweaks. Bring on the sunshine......... :D

roadster is as God planned it, you would get to love an 'M' though, they are addictive :evil:
 
My thoughts now are to keep mine for another 3 years and then get a 35is.Now that's a good plan....................... :D

Do you actually like the 35is though ? To me it's different car,..bigger more complicated. I like the simple Z Roadster as it is. My plan is to run mine (03 plate) for three more years and then exchange it for one as new as I can possibly get and then try to run that as long as I can thereafter.
 
I know what you mean,but I've thought about that and feel that a newer version of what I already have would be a waste of money,might as well keep mine for even longer.The "new shape" Z4 is starting to appeal to me, but I'll keep my decision until I'm ready to replace mine and see how I feel then.
