Someone stole my car cover :'(

I'm no detective, but to me this sounds like a homeless guy knicking something to sleep on/under.

If they thought it was a roadster and were going to try and steal the car....why did they take the cover and not just leave it on the floor when they saw it was a coupe? Doesn't make sense. They obviously wanted the cover not the car.

Who wants a car cover that's already pretty much ruined as anything but a sheet of material?

Homeless people....and these are also the types that are wandering the streets at 4am.

Not that it's going to make you feel any better, but I don't think anyone was trying to steal your car. Just a cold tramp seizing an opportunity to get covered up... in my humble opinion.

The worst part is that I have to park there when visiting the girlfriend, and I don't feel comfortable leaving it there anymore

Which bit of Nottingham are you in? I work here - not seen many e86's about since I got mine. Sorry to hear about your cover.

She's near the university, main campus. I don't drive too much around the city, just to get out of the city :p

Got home to find my cover had gone, made me think about this post....

I found it down the drive jammed against the garage. Wind was bad enough to rip it off it's ties.

Student area?

Forget the tramp theory. Pissed up students seem the likely culprits. When daddy's paid for everything they've ever owned they don't have a lot of respect for other people's property.

Hope this is in jest.. :|

Answer is right there mate  there are other girls in other towns :D

Pictures of both the girlfriend and the car are necessary for us to be best able to advise you :D

As an ex-homeless person (yes really! i'll spare the details) I actually concur with the homeless person theory and someone snatching it to make a nice warm bivvy-cum-sleeping bag - especially if it had a nice warm fleecy interior?
