Some very quiet roads in Northumberland

A couple of lovely days where we were on a recce for future Forum runs and we came across one or two really quiet lanes. Not suitable for a forum run but wonderfully relaxing and feel so far removed from the busy Bank Holiday weekend.













Even on some 'busier' roads we were able to enjoy ourselves















Came across this lovely Caterham at Cragside



And this lovely red E85 which we followed for some miles - anyone on here?

During the early years Wales meets, we used to have 50+ cars on roads like that in Wales.

This was taken from the run in 2004:

It was a beautiful little car - I saw it parked up off the estate road and reversed back into the car park to go take a closer look.

Cragside is special to him as his fathers ashes were scattered there some years ago.

That's a lot of Zeds - happy days

Plenty of such roads around our area and we've used them for parts of our runs in the past (see our posts). We were searching for slightly faster and safer roads - too many blind corners and high hedges today

It's a very special place - we often call in and drive the estate road (National Trust members) as it's incredible that you can drive through/past the actual house on this route - such an impressive place (notwithstanding that the money for it came from munitions).

I'll have your friend's dad in mind the next time we're there.

Does your cousin live in consett by any chance. I see it around that area all the time thought it was my cousin but his is stainless steel and blue... Thought he fancied a change of colour at first (I know what he's like) haha.

The Seven was parked in a particularly beautiful area overlooking two small lakes - can see why your uncle/cousin chose this spot

PS It's not the Bellisie bridge but a very acute hump back bridge by Horton Grange on a road around the Blagdon Estate.

We're going to Wallington tomorrow - not in the same league as Cragside but a nice place to be!

Bellasis bridge is a killer !
